You know what I think would be a great sequel to Joe Millionaire (which I didn't watch, but instead read the reviews of at Television without pity). Joey Normal, about a girl that's presented as a normal woman who needs a husband to take care of her. The guys will all think they're the one that this helpless woman needs. When she finally picks two, she'll reveal that she's a self-made millionaire, with a Ph.D. in some very specific area (I'm thinking Microbiology of sea plants or Womyn Writers of the 1880s), and that she's self sufficent. Think it'd work? I'd watch. I think. Or at least read the recaps.
Thank you for the comments on my my paper. I like the course that I'm doing because it gives me the chance to write pieces like that. And the prof is great - she lets me rant and rave because she can see where I'm going with it. Which is nice. I'll miss her for my last three courses this summer!
New little rant. I saw a commercial yesterday. It was for 'Big Shiny Tunes of the 90's', or 'Big Shiny 90's'. It's a compilation of songs from the 90's. Now, I know that I don't know that much about many of the bands listed, but the faces presented were mainly male. In fact, I only saw three females in the mix - from the Cranberries and Garbage, female fronts to male bands and Veruca Salt (whoo! Veruca Salt!). Weren't the 90's the girl power decade? Spice Girls, Lilith Fair, Hole and the like? Shouldn't there have been some of those artists represented?

If I'm off about the number of females, then it's not by much. What's with that? Why, once again, are we surrounded by male voices defining the music of the 90's? No matter what I think of some of the female groups that aren't there, they should be there.
Bah. No wonder my head hurts.
