Home renovations, 2003-12-30, 11:45 a.m.
Well, I'm in pain today from standing and stretching and painting. Not that I did as much as my parents did, but we all did a lot yesterday. And now, the hall is painted (except for the trim and there's no baseboard on), the windowsills are painted, the stairs are painted, the entrance is painted and the kitchen is painted. Phew. We went with white for the windows, the entrance and the kitchen, lighter blue for the hall and the fusebox in the kitchen and dark blue for the stairs. It all looks fantastic. Here are some pictures but they don't do it all justice. Please excuse any mess that you see.
 The hallway before the paint. It is part way through being taped, in case you thought that there were green lines going through my hall.
 The hallway after the paint. The baseboard will add some brightness and at the end of the hall I'm going to put black and white cat postcards in a frame.
 A closeup of the colour. D. calls it supergirl blue.
 The stairs before. I'd started them (hence the two blue at top) and didn't finish them for fear that paint was dripping through to the apartment downstairs. When they moved out there were no comments on it - or their stuff - so we figured it shouldn't be a problem.
 The stairs now. They really came out nice. Not fancy as I'd originally hoped to do, but wonderful all the same.

 The view from the bottom of the stairs after. It doesn't do it justice but it's great to look at it and see the dark stairs, the white entrance and the blue hall peeking out.
