Yay!!! Second trimester.

This is the good news I'm concentrating on. Have to.

Last night my mom called. Their cat is 12 or 13 years old and has a bad hip from being hit by a car when it was younger. Its paws are pink from lack of fur, because of arthritis. It throws up all the time lately - more than it used to (it was an emotional barfer). It's a huge brute of a cat. It had worms lately, which dad caught an infection from. They're looking for a new home, but, having exausted their options are bringing it to the SPCA and in fact, already have it posted there. And they know what happens in the spca (here at least) when they're not adopted. He's gone past their ability to take care of, yet not their ability to care. They care about the cat a lot but can't do it any more.

Who's going to want an older mouser who limps, throws up and has at least the illness of old age, and perhaps many others? Please, tell me someone will.

They gave him a good home for five years. They cared so much that now, knowing what will be needed they had to give him up. Because they can't do it. I understand. It just makes me sad.
