Tonight .. Cloudy periods with a few flurries and occasional blowing
Snow .. Heavy at times .. And reduced visibility in blowing snow beginning near midnight and changing to rain near dawn. Snowfall amount 15 to 25 cm. Wind diminishing to southwest 20 km/h in the evening then increasing overnight to east 50 gusting 80 becoming south near dawn. Temperature steady near minus 7 rising to plus 2 by dawn.
Friday .. Rain..Heavy at times..Ending in the morning. Amount 10 to 15 mm. Flurries beginning in the afternoon. Wind south 50 km/h gusting 90. Temperature rising to plus 5 early in the morning and falling to minus 2 in the afternoon.

15 to 25 centimetres of snow forecast overnight before changing to
rain Friday morning.
Blizzard conditions already occurring over parts of the west coast and Northern Peninsula are expected to improve later this evening as winds diminish. Meanwhile an intense winter storm is expected to develop to the south and move up over Newfoundland on Friday. Heavy snow will combine with strong winds to give blizzard conditions over most of the district on Friday. Over easternmost areas snow will change to rain in the morning.
