Goodbye to our car car, 2003-06-11, 2:19 p.m.
Well, that was a little sad.
We just had our car picked up. Not our car tess, the one we use now (the saturn wagon). But our first car together - car car. I wrote an a while ago. A long time ago.
We've had the car for ages. Since February 1999 to be exact. We stopped driving it in October, when we got our new car. It was in horrid shape. Horrid shape.
But it was car car. We got it from D.'s dad, who was the second owner. He kept it in shape for us mechanically. We needed it - it needed him. We continued for a year and a bit after him, but it wasn't the same.
That car got us to the states. We slept in it. We nearly blew it up. We were laughed at in it. We cried in it. We took our kitten who had died before our eyes to the vet in it as to try to see if she could be better. We brought home our Olliecat in it a few months later. It got me from one side of the school district to another and back again. It taught me mechanical self-reliance.
We took everything off it yesterday that we wanted. And then we called the towing company.
Noone wanted it for parts, so we were the last users of it. Fitting in some ways. But with you goes a bit of history. Thank goodness our memories are strong and our digital cameras worthy.
So long car car. We'll miss you. Thank you for being such a great car.
