Wishing for a snow day..., 2001-11-28, 9:38 p.m.

I had a great entry composed in my mind, even had a good title. Why can't I remember it? Hmmmm....

Went to Shoppers tonight. Shoppers is my favourite drug store. AND, they have a points thing - each dollar you spend you get 10 points. You can get bonus points for certain items. Somehow, over the year, I collected the maximum number of points - 34,000. Well, not the maximum, but the highest level. 75$ worth of Drug Store Shopping! But.... I hate to use points. I don't know why. Anyway, this week the store was offering 1/2 points back - you buy something with your points, you get 1/2 of them back. So I did. I paid 29$ for 104 worth of stuff. Kick ass and all of that.

Lunch time duty today. I had the dubious honour of having to escort two boys to the office. One was in a locker and the other was protesting the accusation (from the boy) that he put him in there. Gosh, teenagers are nice {snicker}. Earlier I'd had two students say that I was the queen (as per my webquest. They then said that I should be the queen who gives them 100%. I said no, they said people would like me more. When I replied that I'm not here for people to like me, they replied, 'but people do you know'. It was nice. Gosh, teenagers are nice {sigh}.

The people living below us have moved out. That's neat but weird. We have the house to ourselves (ok, yes, we cannot go into part of it). I just hope that the people who move in are not horrid. If anyone moves in :)

Last night the parents came over. Well, the bro, sis, D. and I and the parents went out to supper and then the parents came over. It was nice. We have to do that more often. Cliched phrases that are true.

I'm still amazed at how my parent/teacher interviews went. Many 'They love being in your class'. One 'She hated Language Arts last year and now loves it'. Some 'I know my child is a problem - how can we as a team deal with it?'. Some explaining to do when it came to a child getting a low mark because some things were not passed in - things worth more than many of the other things she'd passed in. But that was not to bad. AND, the child was there, which I love. Students should be at the interviews. They need to know the information as much as the parents do! But it was an amazingly positive and rewarding experience. YES!

I had an odd google search result today. They searched for 'broomstick vagina'. I went to the search site and I didn't see me. And then I felt dirty. I went to one of the sites on it and then I felt terrified that they had a search as well and would think I was the pervert. Then I felt dirtier. And then I went out. Gotta love the internet.

It's snowing. And, it's a good tv night - 'Malcolm in the Middle' and 'Grounded for Life'. Two great shows, on the same night. The snow is falling outside. It's scary to think that it's winter. Loads of snow fell while we were in the drug store. The roads are slippery. I can only half hope for a snow day. Wouldn't that be nice...
